ERHU

The erhu (二胡) is a traditional Chinese two-stringed bowed instrument, often called the "Chinese violin."

The erhu produces a rich, expressive sound, capable of mimicking human-like tones. It is widely used in Chinese folk music, opera, and contemporary compositions, both as a solo and ensemble instrument. Its origins trace back to the Tang Dynasty, influenced by Central Asian bowed instruments.

ELECTRIC ERHU

The electric erhu is a modern version of the traditional Chinese erhu, featuring built-in pickups for amplification.

In rock bands, the electric erhu adds a unique, expressive sound that blends well with guitars and synths, often used for soaring solos and dramatic effects. Bands like Tang Dynasty and other experimental groups incorporate it to bring a distinct, fusion-driven edge to their music.
